RACHAEL LENZ

Rachael Lenz grew up in Colorado, where she split her time between riding horses, running cross country/track, and swimming (very slowly). While attending the University of Colorado in Boulder, she joined the CU Triathlon team and immediately fell in love with the sport. She competed at the USAT Collegiate National Championships every year, helping CU-Boulder win National Champion titles in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Rachael won her age group and placed fourth overall at the 2014 USAT Age Group National Championships and won the 2015 USAT Collegiate National Championship her senior year at CU-Boulder.

After graduation, Rachael moved to Boston, where she joined the Boston Triathlon Team and trained for her first 70.3 races. After two years “out east,” Rachael moved to Portland, where completed the Master's program at OHSU to become a physician assistant.

Outside of triathlon, Rachael enjoys all outdoor activities, including trail running, backpacking, and visiting vineyards with her cat. During the pandemic, Rachael embraced trail running and racing across the Pacific Northwest and one day hopes to compete in a Pack Burro Race (the Colorado State Sport). She remains involved with the Boston Triathlon Team as an active board member.
